The SIMAD AI Institute is actively developing comprehensive national AI strategies, governance frameworks, and policy instruments to ensure that AI is adopted in a way that is ethical, inclusive, and aligned with Somalia’s long-term development priorities. These efforts aim to position AI as a strategic enabler for economic growth, public service modernization, and national resilience.
The development of Somalia’s national AI strategy is guided by evidence-based research and inclusive multi-stakeholder collaboration. SIMAD AI Institute works closely with government institutions, academic partners, the private sector, development partners, and the National Communications Authority (NCA) to ensure that AI policies reflect Somalia’s real needs and regulatory environment.
